ELEGANT, NATURAL-LOOKING BREAST ENLARGEMENT WITH SILICONE OR SALINE IMPLANTS
Breast augmentation with implants, can enhance breast size, restore fullness lost after pregnancy, and create symmetry between breasts of different sizes or shapes. The augmentation procedure can even be combined with a breast lift, liposuction or a tummy tuck for a more comprehensive rejuvenation of the female figure. Women who feel that their bodies would appear more proportional and feminine with breast augmentation should see Dr. Fodero for a complimentary and obligation-free breast enhancement consultation.
Dr. Fodero can increase the size of your breasts through the careful placement of saline or silicone breast implants either beneath or on top of the chest muscle. Dr. Fodero works meticulously to produce breast augmentation results that look natural and balanced with a minimal amount of scarring.
The type of breast implants you choose will depend on a number of factors. Silicone implants, FDA approved since 2006, are made of silicone gel encased in a silicone rubber shell and are favored by many for their natural look and feel. These implants have been safely used in Europe for years and provide exceptionally natural results.
Saline implants are filled with a benign saltwater solution and are chosen by some patients for their lower rate of capsular contracture. These implants can also be implanted through smaller incisions. Overall, saline implants are extremely safe and have a realistic look and feel, as well.
BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH BREAST LIFT
Breast augmentation is sometimes performed in conjunction with a breast lift or mastopexy procedure, which can correct sagging breasts. While the breast lift procedure can be performed without the use of implants, Dr. Fodero can combine the breast lift with breast augmentation to restore lost breast volume and create a more curvaceous silhouette.
How long does breast augmentation surgery last?
Depending on the complexity of the breast augmentation procedure and the type of implant being placed, breast augmentation can take anywhere from one to four hours. As breast augmentation is an invasive procedure, general anesthesia is used to ensure the patient’s health and comfort. Under anesthesia, a patient is unconscious for the duration of surgery and feels no pain.
What are the possible side effects?
Breast augmentation is a safe and effective way to increase the size of your breasts, but there are some potential side effects that women considering breast enhancement should be aware of; however, most of these side effects are temporary and will fade or go away with time. Possible side effects include: soreness, increased sensitivity, swelling, decreased or increased nipple sensation, bruising, and numbness.
Am I at increased risk for breast cancer after having a breast augmentation surgery?
Breast augmentation does not change a person’s chance for developing breast cancer. However, it should be noted that breast augmentation may change the feel of lumps in the breast, so continued breast exams are important.
How much scarring can I expect?
Scarring can be minimized depending on the location of the incision and placement method used (for example, saline implants can be placed through incisions in the belly button or armpits, leaving no scarring on the breasts). If there is visible scarring, it will typically fade over a period of six to twelve months.
What is the recovery process like?
Recovering from breast augmentation surgery can take several months. Though most women can return to normal activities a week or two after surgery, and exercise or sexual activity after one month, the breasts may not fully heal for six months to a year.
Will health insurance cover my breast surgery?
Breast augmentation and breast lift surgery are considered elective procedures by insurance companies, and are not covered. For this reason, we are happy to help with financing as well as offer a variety of payment methods.
If you have received treatment for breast cancer in the past and are seeking breast reconstruction surgery, it may be possible to cover the cost through your health insurance provider, but this should be verified prior to treatment.
