Rejuvenate Lackluster Winter Skin With a Chemical Peel

Is the cold winter air ruining your beautiful skin? Harsh winter weather conditions can dry your skin right out and cause it to develop redness and irritation.

If you’re looking for a non-surgical solution that makes your skin softer, brighter, and fresher looking in the winter months, a chemical peel might be right for you. At Northeastern Plastic Surgery in Florham Park, New Jersey, our experienced aesthetician Jessica Harrison chooses and administers the perfect chemical peel for you.

Discover more about chemical peels, and how they can perk your skin right up this winter.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a non-surgical skin repair solution that gets evenly placed on your skin. The solution works to exfoliate and remove the outer layer of your skin using a peeling process.

This process gets rid of the damage on your outermost layer of skin, revealing a fresher and healthier-looking layer of new skin. Getting a chemical peel at the Northeastern Plastic Surgery office is a quick in-office procedure that’s gentle on your skin.

Jessica will provide you with after-care instructions following your treatment. It is highly recommended that you follow these instructions so your skin will recover quickly.

What results do chemical peels get?

Chemical peels give your skin a number of benefits and improvements in the winter, without the inconvenience of undergoing a surgical procedure. These include:

Chemical peels can also help with acne, including reducing the appearance of acne scars and even helping heal some forms of acne.

What types of chemical peels are available?

Our team offers three different types of chemical peels, Enzymatic, BHA and AHA peels, each offering different benefits.

Enzymatic peels

This is a mild, gentle peel that helps stimulate new cell growth. It’s perfect if you have sensitive skin, are new to getting chemical peels, or would like a peel that requires no recovery time.

BHA peels

The BHA peel uses salicylic acid and is ideal for stopping acne in its tracks if you have skin prone to breakouts. Your skin fully recovers within 3-7 days.

AHA peels

If you have more significant issues you'd like to target, the AHA peels do so with options like kojic acid, retinol, glycolic acid, Jessner or lactic acid. Like the BHA peel, these do cause peeling and take about 3-7 days to recover from.

Before getting your chemical peel procedure, Jessica consults with you to choose the best peel for your skin type and goals.

As part of that consultation, Jessica recommends having a facial done as well so she can analyse your skin. This will help you get the maximum result from the chemical peel.

Get rid of your dry, irritated winter skin and other skin perfections today by getting an easy and convenient chemical peel. Contact us at Northeastern Plastic Surgery to make your appointment.
